Our Prayers ARE Heard

There isn't a person alive who hasn't experienced a difficult time.
A time when the world appears dark, lonely, and the only strength left is a last ditch effort prayer. And after those times, we often speak about the blind faith that carried us through. It was during such a time that I meandered into a hospital chapel in search of a little peace of mind.

As I entered the chapel I felt warmed by a presence. A loving, caring force that seemed to embrace me with its gentleness. It made me feel safe, secure, and helped me ready myself to sit in silence to pray.

The second man
was a Spirit and was
as perfect, in form,
as any physical person
would be.

I happened to notice one other person in the room - a man kneeling in front of the alter - apparently deep in prayer. I quickly sat down, closed my eyes and allowed the wonderful healing energy to filter into my deepest regions. There was such a special feeling in the chapel.

A while later, I glanced up at the praying man. This time I saw a second man standing beside him. The second man was a Spirit and was as perfect, in form, as any physical person would be. He was dressed in a white robe, a red prayer shawl and a red cap. I guessed, from his outfit, that he was a Spirit Bishop. He listened to the kneeling gentleman's prayer with such devotion. No one could have interrupted this incredible moment of communion between them. I sat watching with awe and marveled at the intimacy. It must have been a strong prayer to have called in such a clear listening Minister of Light. I held that image in my mind as I closed my eyes and gave thanks for such a vision. In the silence, all worries seemed to melt away. My soul felt refreshed.

Several minutes later I opened my eyes again. What I saw brought tears to my eyes and deeply touched my soul. Showering over the praying man was a shaft of white opalescent light that streamed down upon him. The light was magnificent. It looked magical. It was obvious that I was witnessing a response to his prayer. Perhaps it was a shower of light for comfort, inspiration, or renewed faith. His prayers were being answered right there in front of me. I just knew it was so.

I went into this chapel to be alone. Instead, I received an experience that left me with the first hand knowledge that we always walk through our difficulties with assistance;  that all of our thoughts and prayers are heard and with loving dedication. Once we give our thoughts in prayer, faith is the best quality that we can add to the experience.

This experience may have been mine alone to witness but at that moment we were ALL shown that the power of prayer goes far beyond our physical understanding and that faith is the "sunshine for growth" in the quieter side of life. Where there is light there can be no darkness. Where there is faith there is light and action.

Think a good thought for a stranger. It does make a difference for them.

Where there is doubt...let us sow faith.
