Where do all of these versions come from?
As some people have matured with their Reiki Practice they likely have developed new strategies and learned new healing techniques. Some versions come from training in other countries, some blended with specific belief systems, or within a religious framework.
There is Christian Reiki, Alef Reiki, and even Shamanic Reiki.

Which one should you chose?
I do not suggest that one is better than another, nor do I know enough about the others to begin to evaluate them in such a way. Follow your interests and intuition. If you find that a specific Reiki practice sounds interesting try doing a Google search for the term and learn more about it.
My recommendation:
I'm probably a bit of a purest but... I would recommend getting basic Reiki training first before adding another influence. In this way the student becomes very clear about what Reiki is and is not.
